It sure is nice to have a wireless key board. I'm so tired at the moment that having to sit up straight would be a pain. So I'm in my collapsable captain's camp chair typeing this entry for my adoring fans. *grins wickedly*
I tried out last week for the annual play that the school does -- The Madrigal. I got the part I wanted, a small part... I'm one of the guards. Clink The German Jailer to be precise. I like it 'cause I don't have very many lines, 12, I think, and so I'm not having to memorize pages and pages. We had our second rehersal this evening. It went pretty good, no accidents or anything. I do have to work on my accent. For some reason I can't get it to sound quite right... It always comes out like a british one, not a german. So Mrs. B. is going to find me a movie to watch so that I can get that accent down.
Classes are all going well for me. I'm learning sooo much! One of the things I'm learning is to never put off homework. If you do you don't function as well. I did that last Wednesday... I had an assigment due for my Expository writing class and I waited until evening to do it. It took me three or so hours with tons of procrastinating to get it done... I stayed up late... Thursday wasn't too fun. The thing about Exp. Wr. is that I'm being stretched. It's the class where there's alot of reading and then she wants you to pull things out of the essay you just read. Yeah, right... I've never been good at that. However, I think this is teaching me some critical reading and some critical thought life. Ms. L. is an excellent teacher, but the homework is what kills. I'm going to have to come up with a thesis, a point for my first essay -- which, btw has to be 5 pages! Oh well... I think I have an idea... We'll see if I can get it worked out. The first draft is due on the 14th.
I have experienced a little homesickness. However, not much. I don't seem to be one of those types that gets all teary eyed and super-sad when he misses his family. (sorry, Mom, Dad. *winks*) I think that God is doing some awesome things in my life and I'm looking forward to experiencing His power.
One thing that I'm going to need to wrap up soon is my church looking and subsquent ministry. This college wants 2 hours a week involved in some sort of ministry. I'm thinking of geting involved in a sunday school program and then maybe helping out with a JH youth group. We shall see how God leadeth the lost.
I'm one busy person. I'd appreciate prayers that I'd get all my studies done and that I'd do some time management. Thanks.
I might be going to Jonah:A VeggieTales Moviie tomorrow evening! I'm so excited!
