Okay, here's the update that I know my two sentence thingy made you want.
The main thing is that God has been working on my heart. I think I’ve written in here about how lonely and down I felt all last year. Well, God has been touching me immensely the last month; both spiritually and with new friends. I have reached a new level with God and have had a breakthrough in my life. It’s pretty cool. I keep praising God for the freedom that I have in Him and that He has forgiven me for the stupid things I do. Without that I would be lost. It’s been hammered home to me in everything that has been going on here. First the orientation week, then at a few of the spontaneous worship times, and most recently at the spiritual growth conference.
Yeah, they have a couple days (I think in each quarter) where a speaker comes and talks about something spiritual. Hence the name! *grins* Tuesday and Wednesday were the days and the speaker, Pastor Mark Wood was talking about how we are anointed for leadership and shared what that means. Guys, I’m scared. Being a leader is not going to be a piece of cake. I’ve seen the pain my dad has gone through and I’m going to get that for the rest of my life. That and persecution and etc. Well, even though it does scare me, I want to do it for my Lord’s sake. He’s called me to be a leader and to raise up other leaders out of the youth. I have no doubt that this is where God wants me. But my mind is a bit fearful… Faith. Got to have faith…
So yeah, God is moving in my life.
He’s also providing me with good friends. My roommates are incredible and there are a few other guys that I’ve clicked with. And, yes, there are a few girls that I’ve talked with. *winks* So my prayers are being answered. I’m getting to have the friends that I’ve missed having. It’s pretty cool.
I'm having fun this evening. Celebrated the Sabbath with Travis, a Messianic Jew that lives on campus. Finished The Dragon and the George and really enjoyed it. Got to talk with Kevin S. (having two Kevins in my room is amazing...) and had a really good time talking to him. I finished a letter to Chelsa and will be mailing that and a Compassion package (that I've needed to mail since I got here) on Monday. I hope. I am now about ready to go to bed.
I'm talking some sort of test for my Learning Skills Enhancment class tomorrow at 7:30am. Ugh. Saturdays are to sleep in until 11... *sighs* Now I'll have to wake up at 6:30 to awaken my mind and to eat and put the contact in... Grrrrr... Oh well, 5 hours isn't too bad...
Hey, to those friends who have my number... Call me sometime! I'd love to talk to you!
