Wrote this on Friday night:
Laptops are very cool. I’m once again using this in a vehicle traveling down the highway. A group of us from EBC went to a Creation Seminar by Kent Hovind. This guys is one of the top creationist speakers in America. He’s on the same level as Ken Ham and Henry Morris. His delivery is quite interesting. As Miles, the guy who put on the ebc creation seminar, uses Kent’s stuff, I was already familiar with some of the examples. I didn’t learn a whole lot more than what I already know, but I’m trying to soak in as much C vs E stuff that I can. I think that once I’m a Youth Pastor I’m going to have to teach my kids thetruth. I want to be prepared.

I’ve become very stressed out the last couple of weeks. Ended up not writing a paper that was do yesterday morning until that evening. It’ll be late and I’ll lose a third of the grade. Oh well, those things happen. At least I got my Writing homework done. Of course I do have an essay to write for it this weekend. *sigh*

Have I ever mentioned that I’m part of an improv group on campus? Element X is similar to the TV show “Who’s Line Is It anyways?” but is cleaned up. We do skits and games based on suggestions the audience suggests and build up a story. It’s hilarious! Valentine’s Day we did a performance down south at a banquet. First performance for me and it was fun! Went very well. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go with them the next day ‘cause I had to work. :( But we have practices once a week and I’m usually able to make them. They give me a boost and help me through the rest of the week and weekend. Laughter is the best medicine.

I never know how God will talk to me. I had to read The Beauty of Spiritual Language by Jack Hayford for Spiritual Formation and found it quite interesting. I’ve been filled with the Holy Spirit and I speak in tongues, but this book allowed me to see the different aspects of Spiritual Language. I’ve believed that tongues is a gift given to enrich the believer and that there are certain types of tongues. Hayford talks about that and addresses the common misconceptions that critics have regarding the experience. I’m not going to lay them out here, but I’ve developed a renewed interest in using my Spiritual Language . If you’re interested in that aspect of Christianity, read the book. He does not come on like tongues is the only way and then tries to push it on you. He uses reason and the Bible to explain why he believes in this and why it’s something that enriches a believer’s life. Very cool book.

But since reading that and starting to pray in tongues more, I have a deeper connection to God. It’s pretty cool to see something like this have such a profound effect.
