Just a quick update to ask for prayer:

1 - Job - nothing on the horizion.
2 - Possible Road Trip - A friend of mine is moving to MI, and it's looking like I'm going to be able to travel with her to MT - if I don't get a job. But I need 200 dollars or so to be able to come home on a bus.

here I am, typing a blogger post right before leaving for Eugene. This week was needed so that I could take a break from Eugene and the routine there, but I am now ready to go back and get back into the routine.

My eye isn't hurting near as much, but the right contact seems to still have problems. That's not good, 'cause I'm now relying on that for vision. It seems like long vision - like driving - is easier than near vision, so I should be okay on the trip home. 'Preciate prayers though.

I am seriously bumming out right now... Brian and Abbey are getting married and I'm not going to be there. I wish that money grew on trees. It'd make life a whole lot easier.

So if any of you get $500 between now and Friday, you can wire it to me. *grins*

Oh well...

I was going to get ahold of Jen before whe left, but apparently she's leaving tomorrow. Bah, well, if you see this, Jen, Heidi, or the third RIer who I think is Cassie... Give Briand and Abbey my Congratulations!

The stitches are out and my eye is stinging like crazy. Imagine a speck of dust stuck in your eye longer than a few secs. Well that's the feeling I have.

It was an interesting procedure. He numbed my eye, put this spring thing in to hold the eyelids open and then proceeded to cut and pullout the stitches. These stitches are tiny. You can imagine the control that it takes for Dr. Terry to remove them (and for that matter, put them in). I think I had the right doctor for this whole process.

My vision is bad and will be for quite some time as the cornea adjusts. I'll have to get a new prescription in my left lense. In the meantime, I'm going to have to wear my right contact all the time in order to have any resemblence to sight. What stinks is that I'm not seeing well even with that contact. I'm hoping it'll get better before I head back to Eugene.

Just finished watching The Man froom Snowy River. I love that movie! If anyone happens to want to send me the soundtrack... *grins*

Legos used to spread the Word. Cool!

Well, I've been home for a total of one day now. Watched Looney Tunes: Back in Action last night. Pretty good flick, though I think that was one of Steve Martin's weirdest roles yet. Did anyone notice that one of the board members was the Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager? *grins* Dave and I also watched Inspector Gadget this afternoon. Made me nostalgic for the old cartoons. Wonder where I can get my hands on some...

Tomorrow I go to Portland to get stitches out of my cornea. I'm not exactly thrilled about it... Oh well, what has to be done has to be done.

I have a post describing this last weekend in progress on my laptop. When I go home, I'll try and post it.

Finals are over!!

Introduction to Literature II - Monday
Miss K. gave us, on Friday, four questions to choose two to answer. We could outline a 1-2 page essay on each of those. I chose my first one and outlined it on Sunday. But by the time I was done with it, it was too late to write the second outline. So I decided to wing it. We also had a 1 page essay about which classic we were affected by. I wrote about the imagery of the Great Divorce and how I was able to see, hear, and touch Lewis's Heaven and Hell. I entered the test with a bit of apprehension, because essay tests and I don't get along very well. I sat down with the three books and my laptop and proceeded to write two essays. I can't say that the structure was the best, but I did get most of my points from the books and well sourced. So I'm not too worried. (What's funny is that Miss K. just walked in and handed me my final. A on the 1 page paper, C on the first question paper, and B+ on the last question. B on the entire final. The question which I winged was the one that got the better grade. *wry grin* I'm thinking a low A for the class. At least as far as my mental estimations go...)

General Psychology - Tuesday
This was a chapterexam over two chapters. I had read those chapters before, but went ahead and read them again Monday night. Tuesday morning, I sat down in class rather confident about the test. Dr. O. gives multiple choice tests and if I've seen the information I'm usually able to get the right answers. Randy and I were joking about how fast we'd get it done. I was almostdone and was going to tease him about not finishing before me,when, just as I finished the last question, he got up and took his final to the teacher. I finished just seconds laterand turned in the final at the same time. *grins* Nothing like a little competition. (I had lunch with the RDs, RAs, and the Student Development committee on Wednesday. Dr. O. was there and he told me that my class grade was a 98%. I was happy!)

Small Group Dynamics - Wednesday
The final for this class was a presentation of our problem solving group's proposal and analysis. My group was last, but since we had the problem that dealt with rules and whether EBC is effectively teaching the standards behind the rules, we were up there for a very long time. We gave the problem, the solution, and then discussed the group dynamics. The Q&A time went on for 45mins after that. Amazing... This is the one class that I'm not sure about what grade I'm going to get. I got Bs on both Midterms, but the rest of the work should have been better. *shrugs* That's okay, this was a very informative experience and I'm very glad to have taken that class.

Beginning Greek III - Thursday
That would be this morning. I studied last night for about two hours. I would have done more, but my brain was fried. I then went to Josh's sister's new house and the four of us (Josh, Cassy, Josh's friend, and I) stayed the night, woke up early, and came back to campus. Mr. B. had taped David's and my finals to his office door and I grabbed those at 8 and we did our final. It wasn't too hard, though I didn't remember a couple words. I did well though.

And that was final's week. I'm currently finishing up in the computer lab and then will be grabbing a bite to eat, cleaning up, and then going to graduation. Brandon snagged me to hand out programs, so that's what I'll be doing. Plus there's at least two seniors that I want to be there to congratulate on graduating. I'll go to a party or two tonight as well.

I'm not exactly sure when I'll leave town to go home for a week, but it'll be sometime this weekend.

(BTW, I signed up for two external studies. College Algebra and Corinthians. Should be some very interesting courses. I hope to be able to buckle down and get them done in record time. We'll see what happens...)

Okay, I'm still going to make a page about this weekend, but I think I'll hit the highlights...

  • Spending 3hours in the car with Grandma H. was a lot of fun. We covered some very interesting topics and I feel like I know her better. It was a great time for us.

  • Family from Idaho came up. It's always a treat to see them and to be able to talk to my Great-Aunt and Uncle. My Grandma R. is keeping a foster child - Kayla, 8 - for awhile and brought her up here. Now that was a treat. I got to play with her and just be a big brother to a hurting girl. Apparently she's been abused intensely by her father, so we poured a lot of love into her over the weekend.

  • That really made me think a lot about the future and the fact that when I'm married I really would like to take care of kids like Kayla and give them love. Made me think a lot about having kids and getting to be a dad. One of those things that I can't wait for!

  • David's Graduation was really good. I got to stand up and talk a little. I covered our make-believe stories and our growing up together. Then I gave him some advice from the experience of two years of college.

  • Sunday was a nice day of relaxation and the watching of movies

  • Monday was a day of driving and then of homework.

  • All in all a very good weekend!

I'm back! I really want to write up a page about the graduation complete with pictures. I'm planning to do that when I go home after finals.

hmmm... I should type more but my mind is scattered... I have two days of classes left and then a week of finals.

Plans are that I'm going to stay here in Eugene over the summer, hopefully working a full-time job, taking Independant Studies, and working 20 hours a month for my rent here at EBC. Should be a fun and busy summer.

Well, I'll write more later.
