Me without beard

Me without beard
Originally uploaded by jcforgod.

This would be a month ago. I was participating in No-Shave November and thus I shaved my beard off. Luckily it's back and I'll eventually have an after picture to show.

This is a test post from flickr, a fancy photo sharing thing.
Let's see... we've got 17 days that I will be here in Eugene. My last final is the 16th and I go up to Portland to pick up my brother on the 17th. Wow, where has this term gone?!

However, I have a multitude of papers to write. Some will get done this week but the majority will be done this weekend and next week. Ah, the joys of the last few weeks of school...

Well, I'm currently sitting in my parent's living room, wearing sweats, listening to mother puttering around in the kitchen and occasionally talking to my brother who is on his laptop in the recliner. Yes, you read right, my brother is here in OR. His church helped him buy a ticket to Portland and I picked him up at 9am wednesday morning. It was great to be able to see my brother and talk to him about school and what his life is like now. Then came the surprise for my parents. David drove from Redmond to here and we both got out of the car. Surprisingly my dad's first response was "Noooo" (of course, the the tone was surprised incredulation). It was great. We had planned this for at least a month in advance. Twas hard keeping the secret and Mother was annoyed at our vagueness.

Highlights of the weekend

  • Road sign: Blowout rd

  • Getting to chat with an older lady at the airport who was waiting for her son and grandkids. Her house isn't kidproof, but she wasn't worried about the youngsters.

  • Thanksgiving dinner was spent with the P. family and their relatives. Good times had by all. I normally don't like Salmon, but this was really good.

  • Getting some homework done, though it's much easier just to veg.

  • Started a game of Risk Thursday night and we're still playing it. With my family, we don't have the endurance to play late night games. Dad was the first one out and I'm trying to whoop David, but he keeps getting cards and large armies. Soon, though, very soon he shall meet his demise!

  • OUr family has two cats and a dog. Recently the female gave birth and they still have one of the kittens. Tigger is a fuzzball that reminds me of a floor rug, 'cause he goes limp when you pick him up.

  • The church is doing well. My parents keep telling me that ministry is happening and the church is pulling together well. Keep praying though.

  • My brother bought a Ruger 10-22 yesterday and is going to go shoot it today.

  • I got to reestablish contact with a old friend last night through the RI message board. It was good to have contact

  • Oh, my church has a website now. Christ Fellowship. There are MP3s of the worship on there even though it hasn't been all of the way completed.

So, Mom, I was thinking that I'd get a portrait of you on my arm, like this.

I love Element X! we have some very good improv people. I wish I had the words to describe how fun it is.

I talked to a few people that I haven't heard from in awhile. April, Heidi, and Melissa were graced with a phone call last night. It was a lot of fun to be able to catch up with those three. Then I talked for an hour or so to Josh.

Right now I don't have that much to say. Goodnight.

I woke up this morning and have been in a weird mood all day... I don't know whether it's lack of sleep or my stupid eyes, but it feels almost like a spiritual oppression. Normally I'd say it's the former, but I feel this urgency that I need to talk to someone. Problem is I don't know who. It might be a friend who's blogger I just read and then tried to get ahold of him or someone else. Very weird and it's distracting me. I'm having problems with working on my homework today.

*wrinkles forehead* Well, I think I'm going to go do some thinking and praying. if you have an idea, call me.

Wearing: Red and white shoes, thick socks, blue jeans, yellow t-shirt, button-up work-type shirt that's either rust or maroon, and my hair in a ponytail.Last interesting thing done on my laptop: I've been fiddling with Paint Shop Pro 8. I created some cool cover art for Josh and am learning more about it.
Last person I talked to on the phone: Cassy. She wanted to know something about the computer down in the Music Lab.

I think that we're going to be playing Risk again tonight. *grins*
