In other news - Reece and Alicia decorated the apartment. We have a Christmas tree with ornaments and this really cool strand of lights that blinks in all knds of different combinations. I wasn't going to decorate this year, since I'll be gone, but I can't complain since Reece is going to be there for pretty much all the break.

I did it again! What did you do, you may ask. Popped my shoulder out would be the answer. Okay, here's the story: I'm in the cafeteria talking to TJ when Joe comes up. He's playing with me and showing me what the difference between a hit and a push is. Well I of course have to clarify so I'm hitting and pushing him. And just as my arm is extended for a hit, he hits me in the shoulder hard. Pop! I now have a dislocated shoulder. Stopping Joe and TJ from what they were saying, I say "Pray" and start to try to work it back in. It didn't take long for it to pop back in. So now I have a sore shoulder and the count is up to 6 times. Heh. Wonder how many I'll have in my lifetime?

The break is over. I wish it was longer, but I'm comforted that I have less than two weeks of mind work and then I go back home for three weeks!
Being at home reminds me that I really love my family. David wasn't home this thanksgiving, which was strange, but other family was up from Idaho. It was a great time!
I think my favorite part was Bronwyn sitting on my lap, turning her face towards me and saying: "I like you." Made me feel special.
I suppose I need to go... Gotta arrange a meeting with Dr. B. We have Romans to talk over...

I'm sitting in my dad's recliner with a puring cat on me, listening to the conversation Dad is having with my uncle about straw bale houses. It's a relaxing day after thanksgiving day. I love coming over the mountains and enjoying family time. It's especially nice this time because I'm seeing family that I haven't seen in 3 years. Last night, Bronwyn 6, randomly came up and gave me a hug. My heart melted! I miss spending time with my cousins.
I'm afraid that what happened with the K. cousins (who are 10 years or so older than me) will happen with this group of little cousins. I loved spending time with my big cousins when I was small, but then they grew up and I haven't seen them or had any contact with them in ages. Both of my dad's brothers have kids in the 8 year-old age category and I haven't spent much time with them. I know it's the nature of having this much distance between ages, but it saddens me.
Oh well, at least I see them every so often. I'm going to see the other set during Christmas break! This is the year for seeing little cousins.
I'm working on my Western Thought project today. Writing about the Cathedral at Chatres. Should be cool.

Ya know, it's a small world... I talked to Rebecca yesterday and asked her about this Eileen that she works with, that she had mentioned went to a Chrysalis to work. It dawns on me that this could be the Eileen that worked at my Chrysalis way back in the day. It was. So the connection is Eileen works at Chrysalis back in 2000, I go to EBC, Rebecca goes to EBC, Rebecca Graduates, Rebecca gets job with Eileen, JC finds out, CONNECTION! *grins* Makes me think about those days and getting to work at Chrysalis. I'm a fan of that program and I wonder if there's a chapter in Eugene...

Friends, fellowship and food... Oh, and furniture! That would be a really good way to describe this weekend. It started out with me doing a little homework on Saturday, finding a loveseat at St. Vincents, buying said loveseat and leaving it there to pick up later. Then Jason came over and we hung out all afternoon. He’s gotten me hooked on Heroscape and so we went looking for expansion packs, talked about modding, and played one game. Then he left.
I was starting back on homework, when Reece walked in. Now he has a truck and I wanted to get the loveseat. So we drove over to the store. Unfortunately the loveseat was in a difficult place to get at and so we said we’d come back the next day. We then ran some errands and returned to the apartment. I had invited my small group over, but only two were able to make it. Thus I went up to the college to get them. As we were having fun, I get a call from Joe – he wants to come over. Reece leaves to get him. Then Ryan G. shows up – to keep Reece company. After Reece and Joe get back, Alicia and Adele show up on their way out to a girl’s night. I think that was the fullest I’ve seen my apartment. Brian showed up later. So we played games and discussed things until 11:30 that night. Not everyone stayed that late, but it was a great night!
Sunday rolls around. We had Friend day at church on it’s fourth anniversary and that started with a potluck. After church I returned home, only to find that Adele, Alicia, Reece and Joe were there. We had Chicken Cordon Bleu (plus a lot of fellowship). Then I go to the Progressive dinner with our church college group.
Started out at Jack and Lisa’s with everyone getting organized into what car they were going in, etc. (apparently Joey was a little late and missed getting to participate. Sorry Joey!). First course was appetizers at Ken and Janene’s. Did you know he won the Golden Glove in Montana, back when he was stationed there? The second course was salad at Dave and Jackie’s. Now I don’t know them very well, but they sure make pretty salads! I would like to get to know them more… The main course was pork roast at Pastor Tony’s. That was fun ‘cause I hadn’t been to their new house (very nice place, I love their dining room and the fireplace!). The last place was Rich and Brenda’s and they treated us with pies. It was a lot of fun all in all. I met several people I didn’t know and had some good conversations. I hope we do it again.
Today has been pretty good. I’m tired though. Reece has been sick and I’ve been fighting something for quite awhile. It’s 8pm right now… I’ll try and do some more homework for an hour and then go to bed.
I’ll post this tomorrow.

Once again I sit at My Coffee, sipping coffee. This time it's an Eggnog Latte. Quite good actually.
Today has been a good day. I woke up early, walked over to Shari's (brrr.. It was a cold morning), ate breakfast and talked with my Pastor. Then I walked over to Liquid Bean, had a hot chocolate and did my devotions. I then walked home. At home I did quite a bit of reading. I lost my calendar again (grrrr...) and so I just read a couple of chapters. I think I'm quite a bit ahead on my Western Thought book. I still have some homework to do today, but I'm doing quite well as far as time goes.
Hunh. This is interesting... I started a new game on Gameknot with an open invitation. Some new member by the name of xgod started playing with me (jcforgod). This should be interesting.
I've been reading Total Truth by Nancy Pearcey (who co-authored a book with Chuck Colson). It's quite interesting. I'm learning a lot about the dualism of people's mindset. I'm reading right now about the social aspects of Darwinianism. Do you realize that by rejecting total truth, you change learning? Education is just a way of creating your own reality - if you don't like something then you reject it. History is rewritten, there's no real answers for math, and kids create their own values instead of being taught what's right. It's a scary thing. That was the end of Part II. I'm starting Part III soon and it's talking about why Christianity has lost its brain.
As far as that class goes... I'm not getting too much out of his lectures and the discussions. That's sad, 'cause Apologetics is my weak point and I need experience and teaching on how to defend my faith - especially in this post modern world. I did get an introduction into the world of Apologetics though through the last paper I wrote. There's some really good books on this subject. I've added a lot of them to my to-read list.
I really want to get a job during break this year, but as I thought about it, this is going to be one of the last times I'm going to get to spend more than a week with my family. So I probably won't get a temp job. Plus I want to build shelves. My plan is to build one more four footer for myself and then try to start on a large one for my parents. Hopefully it'll work out.
The next few weeks are going to be extremely busy. I have a ton of homework to do before Christmas break. I can't believe that November is almost half over... Where does the time go...
for those who are interested here's my Half.com wishlist.

Rain pounds down from above. I stare out at the wet world. Why today? Why? I walk to my car, happy that I decided to wear my new hoodie that has good hood ratio. Driving the mile to school, I think about the what-if dream I had before waking up. The thought that I could go back to my dad's farm when he was a boy and hire on as a worker appeals to me.
School was school today - not particularly exciting or boring. We started Proverbs in Hebrew Lit today. I am looking forward to exploring this book 'cause it most definitely has a lot to give. Our first assignment is to count all the "my son" passages and make an outline of them. Should be interesting.
I'm waiting for Dr. B. to show. We have an independent study to do. And there he is!
