I have the best parents!! They came over the mountains yesterday since I couldn't go to Madras for Spring Break. Not only did they bring my desk over, they brought their old table for me, as well as a vacuum as a be-lated birthday gift! That's only the beginning. Dad helped me with my car (pulling the alternator out only to find that it was fine and the problem must be something else) and Mom cleaned my apartment (Kudos to Mom!!). We then had Jack and Lisa over and had a great conversation. Today they bought me some cleaning supplies and took me to Mongolian Grill!

Mom and Dad, I really, really, really appreciated all that you did and enjoyed your time here. Thank you very much for being my parents!

It's officially Spring Break now for me. I finished my analysis project and turned it in before noon on Monday. It's a relief to be done with all my homework. The plans this week are to veg the rest of today and part of tomorrow. I have some running around to do tomorrow, but my goal is to set up on the couch with chips and dip and watch movies! I'm thinking about doing a LOTR Marathon...

Thursday I need to get the car into the mechanic's to see if he can figure out what's going on. I hope he does, 'cause I really want to have my car work! That's the day I'm also going to look for a job. I can no longer get by with not working. I need funds!

Random thoughts:

I hate ants, especially when they get into my cereal and drown in the milk. Luckily ants have no taste.

I like Flickr, but I wish I had a Pro account to do more with it...

My Mom's Zuchini cake is awesome!!

I should call someone...

Oh hey, I was in a wedding on Saturday. Third one I've been in, the 4th I've attended and the umpteenth friend to get married in the last year. I went over to Reese's to hang for awhile before the wedding. Got dressed in the shirt, tie, and vest. Sorry, no pictures unless I can get some from Adele..

We did the professional pictures before the wedding. Very cool to watch the guy handle the wedding party. Then it was time for the ceremony. Reese did something different. Alicia's Dad came to the front and Reese stepped up and asked permission under the condition that he would never divorce Alicia. Mr. B. responded with something along the lines of giving away their greatest treasure and entrusting her to Reese. Very, very moving. Then the bride come up and they went through the vows, unity candle and communion. That was it and they were married!

They left after the reception and I stayed and helped clean and set up. I was so tired that all I wanted to do was watch a movie and sleep.

It's going to be interesting to watch them together over the next few months. I'm interested in seeing how our friendship changes because of his getting married. All the rest of my friends changed because of it, so it'll be interesting to see how Reese handles it.

More Randomness:

I still need more shelves. It's amazing how many books I have, and even more amazing to think that I still have a lot back home.

This next term is my last term. I've pretty much made the decision that I'm just taking the classes I need and that's it. I'd like to take Church Planting, but it'll add to the homework and class time and I just can't see doing that with all the other things coming up.

It's going to be strange to be wrapping up this year and this period in my life.

I finished reading C.S. Lewis' That Hideous Strength. Took awhile to build up to the climax, but it became interesting as I got more into it. It's a book that I've tried to read at least two times before, after reading the other books in the space trilogy, but I could never get into it. I decided to start on it first this time and try to get into it. It is a good book with some good ideas about the battle between good and evil.

I think I'm going to read The Silmarilion again. I'm thinking it's time to start on Tolkien again.

Well, it's getting to the end... I finished Apoc. Lit. today. I think I probably got a B on the final. My feeling is a low A or a high B in the class. Won't know until the end of Spring Break.

Now to finish up on Minor Prophets. I still have two papers for that. I'm all set up to take the final tomorrow at 10 or 11. Depends on how when the papers get finished... Good news on the other external course though. I still have three months to finish it. *grins* That's a relief.

I didn't feel like writing this afternoon, so I went to Fred Meyers and bought some shelf supports so I can have all my shelves up with my bookshelves. Then I got a hair cut. I realized that it's been since December first that I had my hair cut. It's nice and short and my beard is too, so Reece won't be annoyed at me! *grins* After the hair cut, Jeremy gave me a ride to Winco and I bought food! It's so nice to have food in the fridge...

Now I'm sitting here, feeling my stomache growling a bit, thinking about starting dinner and also about starting back up on writing the first paper. Once I start panicking, I'll get it done. It'll happen in about an hour or so and I'll start pulling those sentences out.

I'm really looking forward to Spring Break. I plan to relax, start writing the first draft of a letter to different churches looking for a job, starting to apply for a regular job around here, and hopefully fixing my car. My parent's are coming over the mountains and I'm really looking forward to that. I haven't seen them since Christmas and I really wanted to go over to Madras, but the car isn't letting me.

I'm in a wedding on Sat. Reece and Alicia are finally getting hitched and I'm one of the groomsmen. At least I don't have to wear a tux, though they do have me in a tie... *grins* It'll be fine though.

Yay! For those that know him, my friend Josh has been updating his blogger after a long period of silence. Keep it up Josh! He and his new wife just took a youth group in Washington and are trying to settle in.

Well, didn't get much homework done today. Just happy that classes are over. Now to make that study guide for Philosophy. I've decided to take an incomplete in my external study class I never started. What with this huge project to work on for Evangelism class I don't think it'd be wise for me to try and cram this course in. So, I'll have to work on it the first month of next term. (Note to self: Call eBC tomorrow and see if Mr. S. is in to arrange final and Incomplete).

I have green cake in my kitchen right now. No, it's not two months old. We had a Green party for CCG tonight and I made a Yellow cake mix. Of course it had to be green so I added some food coloring to it. Unfortunately not many people ate it. So I have the leftover cake from small group and the leftover cake from the party! *laughs* Me thinks I need to invite some people over tomorrow sometime to eat cake.

I realized that I've been quite the hermit since I moved in here. Must be careful not to let that happen too much. I have the tendency to seek solitude when pressed for time at the end of the term, but I also can rap myself up in other worlds. Playing online scrabble is one of those worlds, reading fiction is another.
This is cool! I've been into chess the last while and have started to want to collect chess sets. Even though this is expensive, wouldn't it be a great conversation piece? Can you imagine playing this down at the EMU?

We had a party at my apartment for small group. I whipped up a box cake and had ice cream. It was great.

I'm starting to feel like I'm washing dishes all the time. Not having a dishwasher is annoying. I'm discovering I need a drainer, dish cloths, and various other things for the kitchen.

I finally got done with that paper. Woke up this morning and wrote it. Something about sleeping on it and letting my subconcious work on it. No clue what sort of grade I'll get on it.

Couple things to pray for today.

The first is a homeschool family in California had their kids taken away from them without a warrant. They're a good family and this didn't need to happen. Pray hard that their kids will be returned to them fast.

Second, my Apoc. Lit. teacher came into class pretty shook up. He said that something major was going on in his church (he's the pastor) and apologized for not putting all his self into class today. I don't know what's going on, but I would just urge you to send up a prayer for him.

In my life there's my car situation, my financial problems, and once this term is over next week, I need to find a job. Appreciate prayer in all those areas.

I can officially say I'm stressed now.

This weekend has been interesting. I took Thursday evening and finished up on the majority of my packing. It had been snow showering and was rather nasty. I was praying for good weather, yet it started to snow that evening and kept on snowing. Reese and I thought it'd be cool if classes were canceled, yet it'd melt so I could move. I woke up to about an inche and a half of snow. Apparently the college got more, 'cause Alicia called me and told me that classes were canceled. That was a good thing for me! The first part of our prayer had come true.

Reece and I were sitting in the living room, talking and basically having a relaxing morning, when Alicia and Adele came in. They had snow balls and proceeded to attack us! I didn't get any good shots in, but Reese did. Then I got the last minute things packed and went over to the manager's office. I did all the paperwork and learned that the cleaning lady was still working. She wouldn't be done until 12, which was okay 'cause I had it arranged for a truck at that time.

Sitting around and waiting was rather annoying, especially with the chemical fumes from Reese cleaning the bathroom. I went outside and enjoyed the sunshine (all the snow was gone!) Wayne showed up and we loaded his and Reese's truck with my stuff and headed over to the new apartment (same complex, yet different driveway). It took a total of four loads and two trips.

Right as we got the last box into the apartment, it started to hail. God is so amazing! He melted the snow, held a nice window open while we moved and then the hail came. I was totally stoked.

I have unpacked most of my stuff. Still have a few things to arrange, but it's starting to feel like home. I was exausted last night, so I watched a couple of movies and organized my stuff at the same time.

I woke up this morning and did a little more unpacking. Then I headed over to Safeway and bought some groceries. Let me tell you, I don't like walking with groceries in my hands.

After I do some more unpacking, I have to get started on a paper. It's definitely crunch time!

I should be stressed right now!! I should be panicking over all the papers to do and the external study course I need to start. Yet, I'm not. I'm very laid back and still in that sort of zone where I'm not really worried.

Why am I disturbed about this? Isn't being stress free a good thing? Well, considering I work better under stress, no it's not a good thing. So am I panicking over not panicking? Heh.

In other news... I have exactly a week left (I think, must comfirm with manager) in this apartment. I'm moving into a one bedroom in the same complex. It shouldn't take too much to get me moved. I do have a lot of furniture though. It's amazing how much I've acquired over the last six months. I still need a table though. It's going to be nice to have a place all to my own!

Well, I need to get cleaned up. I'm going to a worship night tonight and don't want to smell bad. *grins*
