Christmas was going to be a bit of a bum deal this year. Neither David, or my cars are in good winter condition and we don't have the funds to get them to that point. Thus we weren't going to be able to drive to Butte and be with my parents for Christmas. We didn't get a Christmas tree because we weren't going, so our tree became a potted plant with a string of lights wrapped around it.

Then... I was talking with my buddy Brian and he offered to let us use his car. It's an Outback and works well in cold weather. That was Wednesday night. We decided to leave on Friday, early.

Friday morning, dark and early at 7am we left our apartment for the road. We arrived at 9:30 MDT. It was a very long drive, but so worth it! The expressions on Mom and Dad's faces were awesome! Grandma was pleased as well.

Of course, being the bachelors we are, David and I brought our laundry. Today we did laundry, helped prepare dinner and visited.

It's so nice to be able to be with family when you don't think you're going to be. I got the Mom hug that I needed.
